Hot Tub Saturday Night with Jamie
6pm-Midnight
Jamie Flanagan was born and raised in the city proper (7 & VanDyke) and has had music in his soul from right from the start. He interned at 89X during the early years then was the house DJ at several clubs, mainly the 89X nights in town. These venues included Lipsticks, The Ritz, The Shelter, The Majestic, and the State Theater.
Jamie also did weekends at 92.1 The Edge in Lansing (another station Greg St. James founded) with a crew of alternative music lunatics. After leaving the Edge, he came back to the city and did some part-time radio gigs at a couple of other Detroit stations for over 15 years.
While on a break from radio in 2023, Jamie heard… a Detroit station, couldn’t believe he heard it at all… Jamie remarked, “Radio Cobra Detroit was playing everything on his playlists and then some”.
Radio Cobra recently asked Jamie for his comments from his backyard hot tub party (which he partakes in frequently) and said “The music is the exact kick in the ass Detroit Radio needs. I am excited to be part of it”.
When Jamie is not in his hot tub or spinning tunes at weddings, clubs, and bar gigs, he teaches high school broadcast and journalism classes.
